Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has solved a hit and run case in Ganderbal district by arresting an accused person involved in the commission of crime.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, Police said that on October 26, an accident occurred at Derand, wherein a Bike rider namely Manzoor Ahmad Kaloo son of Ghulam Ahmad Kaloo resident of Nesbal Sumbal was hit by an unknown vehicle resulting his on spot death, Stating therein further that driver of the unknown vehicle fled away from the spot along with the vehicle.
Stating that a case vide FIR number 306/2022 was registered under relevant sections of law at Police Station Ganderbal and investigation was initiated, Police in it’s statement further said that the police party led by police party led by SI Fayaz Ahmad I/C PP Nagbal acted swiftly to start a hot pursuit of the unknown driver and arrested him after hectic efforts.
Police in it’s statement also said that the accused driver has been identified as Gh Hassan Kandro son of Gh Mohd Kandro resident of Ashai Bagh Nigeen Srinagar, adding that while the vehicle bearing registration No. JK01H-4211 has also been seized, the accused said drivers has been shifted to police station where he remains in custody and further investigation of the case is in progress.
In the concluding para of the statement, Police reassured the people about it’s resolve to act tough against the individuals involved in criminal activities.
