Kupwara :  The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Doifode SagarDattatray on Friday convened a meeting of all concerned officers and bankers connected with employment generation programme to review the progress of various employment generation schemes under District Industries Centre, NRLM, KVIB, KVIC, Handicraft/Handloom, Agriculture and allied departments.

The DC took a detailed review of all employment schemes and received feedback from the concerned officers.

He gave a target for sanctioning of 750 cases in different employment generation schemes with deadline of November 25, this year for which he asked all line departments and LDM to nominate Nodal Officers who will work under single window system.

He asked the officers to ensure maximum facilitation and easing procedure of formalities for the greater benefits of employment of educated unemployed youth of the district. He nominated Functional Manger DIC and Industrial Promotion Officer as coordinators for accomplishment of the targets.

The DC also gave target for sanction of 10 cases in each panchayat of Kupwara district under MUMKIN scheme of District Employment & Counseling Centre.

Referring to the disposal of the cases for sponsorship and other related activities, the DC said that rejection of cases shall not be allowed in any case, adding that it shall be the responsibility of the concerned administration to complete the formalities of the beneficiaries. “I will ensure that 90% of cases applied should be sanctioned”, said he adding that the success rate of the cases counts efficiency of the department.

The DC asked officers to infuse positivity in work culture and facilitate beneficiaries. He also asked officers and bankers to work in tandem so that better results could be yielded at ground level.

He stressed upon the officers of line departments to further upgrade the awareness among the youth and propose new and creative things in these cases.

The DC asked AD Handicrafts to work out for establishment of one showroom/ Rural Haat within the area from Drugmulla to Kupwara town so that market avenues for the handicraft and other items could be enhanced.

Regarding Back to Village 4 programme, the DC said that identifying unemployed youth is one of the most important tasks of the ambitious programme. He said 15 unemployed youth shall be identified in each panchayat with their field of interest and feasibility. He further added that 20 potential candidates from each panchayat shall be identified under Himayatscheme. He said this database will further boost the employment generation programme in the district.

Among others, JD Planning, ACP, CAO, LDM, DSWO, DIO, FM-DIC, IPO, AD Handicrafts, AD Fisheries and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
