Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Pulwama and also recovered huge quantity of contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, Police said it received inputs that one person Jalal-ud-din Bhat S/o Ab Ahad Bhat R/o Nownagri has indulged in peddling of contraband substances to young generation and involved them in drug addiction besideshoarding a large quantity of narcotic substances in his residential house.
Stating that on receiving the said inputs a Police Party from Police Station Litter along with Executive Magistrate concerned raided the specific location and recovered 54kgs of Bang Pati and 550 gms of Charas Powder from the said house , Police in it’s statement further said that the accused person was also arrested on the spot and a case vide FIR No. 102/2022 under relevant sections was registered in Police Station Litter and further investigation set into motion.
In a concluding para of the statement, the police on this occasion appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood and reiterated that the persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law
