Charge sheet produced against 4 accused in an attack on minority in B’gam : Police

Srinagar : The Police on Thursday said that it has produced a charge sheet against 4 accused persons involved in minority attack at Gopalpora in Budgam.

In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters, Srinagar Budgam Police on Thursday produced a charge sheet against 4 accused (3 adults, 1 juvenile) in a case of a militant attack on minorities at Gopalpora Chadoora.

“The four accused persons namely Altaf Farooq Rather S/o Farooq Ahmad Rather R/o Dharambugh Kralpora, Suhail Ahmad Malik S/o Abdul Hamid Malik S/o Panzan Chadoora, Faizan Khursheed Panjabi S/o Khursheed Ahmad S/o Dharambugh Kralpora and a juvenile”, reads the above referred Police statement

The police in it’s statement also that on 15th August  at about 20.15 hrs, a grenade attack took place on minority house at Gopalpora Chadoora in which one member of minority community namely Karan Kumar S/o Anil Kumar R/o Gopalpora Chadoora got injured and was evacuated to the hospital.

The police in it’s statement furthermore said that it has also registered a case vide  FIR No. 147/2022 under relevant sections of law at Police Station Chadoora and investigation was taken up.

In a concluding para of the statement, Police said that during the course of investigation, offences under section 307 IPC , 16, 18 ,23 39 ULA(P) were established against the above four accused (including a juvenile) and the charge sheet to this effect was produced before Competent Court on Thursday in shortest possible time of 72 days after obtaining the sanction from the competent authority.
