ADGP Vijary Kumar inaugurates “Martyr Raja Saleem Anwar” Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament in B’pora

Srinagar  : As a mark of honour and part of commemorating the sacrifices of Police martyrs, ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar on Thursday inaugurated Martyr Raja Saleem Anwar Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament at SK Stadium Bandipora.

According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, the inaugural ceremony was also attended by Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Owais Ahmad, SSP Bandipora Mohmmad Zahid, CO 14RR & 26RR, ASP Bandipora AshiqHussain Tak, Dy SP Hqrs Bandipora, DySP DAR Bandipora and other senior officers of Police, Army, CAPF, Civil Administration and other dignitaries. The police on this occasion said that the tournament will be played on knock out basis in which 33 cricket teams of district Bandipora will participate. The inaugural match was played between the teams of  District Police Bandipora & BCC Bandipora.

Speaking on the occasion, ADGP said it has always been the top priority of J&K police to provide better platform to the youth interested in sports activities. The ADGP further said that police will continue to engage the youth in different sports activities besides doing their hand holding in academics and equip them with better skills, so that they will excel in their fields of interest.

The inaugural ceremony was also attended by large gathering of sports lovers, general public and students of various educational institutions of the district. After the conclusion of the event, a rank ceremony was also held at DPL Bandipora in which newly promoted police officials were decorated with ranks and the officers congratulated them and their families and impressed upon them to work with same hard-work & honesty during the rest of their service.
