Budgam : Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Budgam, SKUAST-Kashmir in collaboration with Department of Agriculture on Tuesday organized Valedictory function of 15 days Skill Development Training programme on “Quality Seed Production of Maize” held under Agriculture Training Programmes for Aspirational Blocks (Pakharpora and Surasyar).
The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Budgam, S F Hamid was the chief guest on the occasion.
Speaking at the event, the DDC stressed upon the importance of training for increasing the production and productivity of the crops thus paving way for upliftment of the farmers.
About 48 farmers of the given areas were trained on all the aspects of Quality Seed Production of Maize.
During the event, a detailed overview of training was presented by Nodal Officer Surasyar, Showkat Yousuf Malla and M.Y. Shakoor, SDAO Chadoora.
On the occasion, Sr. Scientist and Head KVK Budgam, Dr. Bilal A. Lone interacted with farmers regarding the training.
Chief Agriculture Officer, Budgam, Syed Tafazul Hussain Madni raised awareness among the farmers about the various Government schemes available with the Department of Agriculture.
