SVEEP: DEO Anantnag organizes Enrollment/ Awareness Progat GDC Kokernag

Anantnag  : As part of the Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls, the District Election Officer, Anantnag on Tuesday organised an enrollment cum awareness program under the theme of “No Voter to be left out” at GDC Kokernag.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy District Election Officer said that the Department is committed to register all the eligible voters of the district.  She said that special campaigns for registration of new voters as well as updation of data related to specially abled persons is being carried out.

She said that the entire election machinery in the District has been at work during SSR to ensure that every eligible person is registered as a voter and can voice his/ her opinion through the electoral process.

SDM Kokernag who is also the ERO for Kokernag, SaribSehran said that in the last month, the BLOs in the district have worked very hard under close supervision to ensure that eligible citizens in every nook and corner of the district are registered. He said special emphasis was laid on registration of specially abled persons.

On the occasion, Dr Arshid, master trainer, briefly discussed the various provisions of SVEEP and importance of the electoral process in the democratic set up.

Well performing BLOs were felicitated by SDM Kokernag and Dy DEO. Students who have attained the eligible age of 18 as well as those who had not previously registered were registered as voters on the spot.

A skit was presented by the artists on the occasion disseminating the message of importance of election and enrolment in the voter list.

The programme was attended by Principal GDC Kokernag, faculty members, master trainers, BLOs, besides a large number of students.
