Srinagar : Police on Tuesday has claimed to have arrested a drug peddler in Budgam by organising a massive search operations across the district and recovered a huge quantity of contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters, Srinagar, Police said that the police party of Police Station Magam during patrolling at Peth Kanihama intercepted a person moving in suspicious circumstances who tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully by alert police party. Stating that during searches 105 grams of charas like substance was recovered from the possession of the said drug peddler identified as Faisal Hamid Bhat S/o Ab Hamid BhatR/o Peth Kanihama Magam, Police it’s statement further said that the said drug peddlers has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody. Police it’s above referred statement also said that it has registered a case vide FIR No. 162/2022 under relevant sections of law at Police Station Magam and initiated further investigation into the matter.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood and warn ed that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law, Stating therein further that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken as part of the efforts made to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
