Budgam : The District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) in collaboration with District Youth Services and Sports (DYS&S) Budgamon Tuesday organized a Volleyball match for Girls at GHSS Ichgam in PanchayathalqaIchagam of the district.
The District Youth Service and Sports Officer (DYS&SO), Gurmukh Singh Dutta inaugurated the event and threw light on the theme Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP). He also stressed upon the importance of physical and mental fitness of the girls for their overall development
On the occasion, District Mission Coordinator, Afroza Bhat highlighted the importance and significance of empowering women and girls. She said that promoting gender equality is crucial in accelerating sustainable development.
She further said, girls are important stakeholders of society and it is our collective responsibility to take care of their needs and empowerment.
Certificates were also distributed among the winners at the end of the function.
The programme was attended by Staff Members of Mission Shakti, members of DYSSO, Principal Higher Secondary School Ichgam along with the Staff.
