Srinagar : Chairman Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Front (JKPDF) and former Minister, Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen on Saturday felicitated people on the eve of urs of Hazrat Shiekh Noor Din Wali ( RA), being celebrated across Jammu and Kashmir .
In a statement issued from the party headquarters here on Saturday, while greeting people on the occasion of Urs Sharief of Shiekh Noor – Ud-Din Wali also known as , Sheikh-Ul-Alam the chairman JK Peoples Democratic Front ( JKPDF) and former Minister ,Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen felicitated people on the eve of urs of Hazrat Shiekh Noor Din Wali ( RA) being celeberated across Jammu and Kashmir today
Hakeem while greeting people on this occasion said that Sheikh-Ul-Alam, was the revered spiritualguide of the world and Alamdar-e-Kashmir ,the Flag Bearer of Kashmir- in particular . He said that Sheikh Noor – UD-Din Wali was a Kashmiri Sufi saint, a mystic poet and an Islamic preacher who translated Quranic verses in Kashmiri language known as –Shiekh Shruk-. He said people from different religions are inclded among the vast circle of devotees of Shiekh- ul – Alam including Kashmiri pandits who as a token of love and respect called him Nund Rishi , He said Shiekh-Ul-Alam was among the founders of the Rishi order, a Sufi tradition of the region. He influenced many spiritual teachers and saints, including Hamza Makhdoom, Resh Moel Sàeb,
Urging people to follow the preachings of Nund Rishi ,PDF Chairman said Sheikh-ul-Alam (RA ) has taught principles of simplicity , truthfulness, justice, love, and service of humankind. He preached people of the fear of God and accountability before Him after death. Yaseen appealed people to offer special prayers for return of lasting peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir while celebrating annual Urssharief of Shiekh Noor – ud- Din Wali( RA).
