Horti Deptt Jmu imparts one-year Malli’s training course

Dir visits Advanced Centre for Horti Dev, Ramban, takes stock of horticulture activities

Jammu :  The Department of Horticulture Jammu is imparting One Year Malli’s Training Course to the newly selected 45  Malli’s drawn from all the districts of Jammu division.

One year training programme is going on at Mega Fruit Plant Nursery, Chakroi, R S Pura for hands on in respect of  sub-tropical fruit crops.

As a part of one year Malli’s Training Course, the trainees came here at Advanced Centre for Horticulture Development, Ramban for six days training course with respect to Temperate fruit crops. The malli’s were trained about different technical /cultural operations and plant protection measures to be performed in the departmental nurseries.

The Director Horticulture  Jammu Ram Savak, Saturday visited Advanced Centre for Horticulture Development, Ramban and took stock of the horticulture activities and operations being going on. Six days training course of the malli’s going on at Ramban farm also concluded here Saturday in presence of Director Horticulture Jammu. Chief Horticulture Officer Ramban Anil Gorka, DLSMS, Pardeep Gupta, DTO ,Pawan Thakur, Farm Manager, VirinderBhagat, and HDO, Abhinav Gupta were also present on the occasion.

While addressing the trainees, the Director Horticulture emphasized on the need for imparting both theoretical and practical knowledge to the malli’s. He said that this training is of utmost importance for  hands on for conducting various nursery operations and plant protection measures to be adopted in the departmental nurseries of temperate areas for production of true to type grafted fruit plants. He appreciated the trainees for taking keen interest in the training programme and asked them to serve this sacred department with zeal and dedication in their respective areas of operation for the ultimate benefit of the farming community.
