Budgam :  The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, S F Hamid on Thursday chaired the Block Diwas at PanchayatHalqaKuzwera in Block BK Pora.

On the occasion, PRIs and other respected from villages Kuzwera, Gowharpora, Sanzipora, Nowbugh, Kesarmulla, Bugam, and other adjacent villages apprised the DC about their demands. After giving patient hearing to the public, the DC directed the concerned to take up all required works on priority.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC stressed on speedy completion of balance work on PHE filtration plant Sanzipora so that it is commissioned on November 10th. He said that the project shall ensure supply of potable water to Gowharpora, Kuzwera, Sanzipora and other areas.

He also asserted the expediting work process on lift irrigation schemes and other JJM works in the area and filtration plant Kesarmulla.

PDD authorities were directed to ensure improvement works in HT and LT lines are carried out on war footing and adequate winter related arrangements are made in advance for smooth supply of electricity to the people.

DC informed that for macadimization of main road and interior links, a project worth Rs 4.4 crores has been approved and instructed R&B to start work on the same at the earliest.

The DC stressed on coordination between departments and availability of field functionaries on the ground for the general public.

Asserting on cleanliness and sanitation, the DC urged for construction of compost and soakage pits for solid waste and liquid waste management.

He emphasized that works related to irrigation, road development and improvement in education and health sectors be executed in a time bound manner for public convenience.

Among others, CEO, CHO, CAO, CAHO, DSHO, BDO, BMO, Engineers from various engineering wings, and other district officers and officials attended the programme.

Later, the DC also visited Middle School Kuzwera and interacted with students.

He stressed on concerned to take up works including fencing of school premises, demolition of decayed infrastructure, road development and other works for execution on priority.
