Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: NYK organises DYC at GDC Kathua

Kathua :  Nehru Yuva Kendra Kathua in collaboration with Government Degree College Kathua organized District Level Yuva Utsav: “Yuva Samvad-India @ 2027” under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The event marked an overwhelming and enthusiastic participation of young minds from different educational institutions from across the district.

Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Pandey, who was the Chief Guest, inaugurated the proceedings by lighting the traditional lamp. Commandant IR 19 Bn Benam Tosh, Principal GDC Kathua Sunmesh Jasrotia, Deputy Director NYK J&K Nazir Ahmed Shah, Deputy Director Som Dutt Zard, Social Activist Sukhdev Singh and a large number of students attended the day long programme.

While speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rahul Pandey said “YuvaSamvad-India 2047”  is launched to provide  youth of the country a platform to exchange their views  on various issues of National and International importance.  He said the programme is part of ‘Aazadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ which aims to rekindle the spirit of patriotism for developing a new India at the Centenary celebration of Independence. He said to see India attaining new heights of progress and prosperity requires collective, constructive and collaborative efforts of all the stakeholders. He also lauded the participating students for presenting a colourful cultural programme.

Commandant IR 19 Bn, Benam Tosh, in his address, appealed young students to channelize their energies in constructive works and desist away from the menace like drug abuse. He said a progressive India needs active participation of youth who are the real game changer in achieving the holistic development of our country.

While throwing light on the initiative of “YuvaSamvad-India 2047” Deputy Director NYK Kathua Som Dutt Zard said over twenty teams from twelve different blocks of the district are participating in the event. He also gave a brief sketch of activities being carried out by the Sangathan for the youth.

On the occasion, an array of activities were conducted which mainly focused to showcase the talent of youth in different domains. The students participated in painting, poetry, photography among other competitions which evoked louder applause from the audience on multiple occasions.
