DC Sgr Flags-off CSC DIGITAL VAN for door to door awareness of flagship schemes for registration of beneficiaries

Srinagar : With an aim to sensitise masses about significance of Birth of Girl Child and to highlight the opportunities created for women empowerment and emancipation, a programme under BBBP campaign was Wednesday held here at Niabat office, Harwan to Honour Birth of Girl Child.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad AijazAsad was the Chief Guest of the Programme which was jointly organised by the Social Welfare Department and District Program Office, Poshan.

Besides, members of local PRIs, Director Social Welfare, Mohammad ShafiqChak, Programme Officer, ICDS, ZeenatAra, Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Yaseen Lone, district Social Welfare Officer, DrMukhtar Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner Development, Farooq Ahmad,  Tehsildar North, Kaiser Ahmad, besides  CDPO Batwara, staff of District Hub for Empowerment of Women Mission Shakti, District Mission Coordinator and the Gender Specialists, Supervisors of Poshan and Aaganwadi Workers and large number of  people were present on the occasion.

Speaking at the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner underscored the importance of birth of Girl Child and highlighted the initiatives of the Government launched for empowerment and overall development of women folk. He also highlighted the contribution of females who have excelled in all walks of life such as Administration, Sports, Health, Education, Art, Craft and Business.

The DC stressed on launching mass awareness regarding Women Centric Schemes, NashaMukt J&K Abhiyan, Skill Development, BBBP and Legal Services through such programmes to achieve desired targets at ground level.

While lauding the efforts of the Departments for organizing the programme at Harwan to Honour Birth of Girl Child, the DC urged them to conduct such programmes in other parts of the district in future for encouragement and empowerment of Girl Child besides reach out the community at a large and generating awareness for wider dissemination of the women oriented schemes of the Government.

The DC said also various significant steps have been taken towards protecting the girl child and enabling best education avenues to them and bringing a transformational shift in the way our society looks at the girl child.

During the programme, Mothers of the New Born Girls and Girl achievers were felicitated by the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour.

Earlier, the with a view to ensure benefits of Government sponsored welfare and flagship schemes reaches to every citizen of the District, the Deputy Commissioner flagged-off CSC DIGITAL VAN for generating awareness about online services among the masses at their doorsteps under 4th phase of Back to Village Programme.

The DC flagged off the CSC DIGITAL VAN, an initiate of Information Technology Departments under PradhanMantri Jan ArogyaYojana (PMJAY), e-SHRAM, Pension schemes etc from Nayabat Office, Harwan in order to provide better services and to create awareness among the general public living in far flung areas of the District.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner impressed upon the concerned to work with added zeal and extra efforts to cover the to cover the remaining beneficiaries under PMJAY and other schemes at the earliest

The DC was informed that the van has been pressed into the door to door services and will go in all Blocks of Districts for on-spot registrations to facilitate people to get registered and to avail benefits under different flagship schemes.

On the occasion, District Manager CSC, AsrarShirazi and other senior Officers were also present.
