Udhampur : Commissioner Secretary Revenue, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, on Wednesday conducted an extensive visit of Udhampur district and participated  in the Jan Abhiyan programme at Tikri organised in the run up to Back to village Programme (Fourth phase).

DDC Chairperson, UdhampurLal Chand; Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, KrittikaJyotsna; BDC Chairman, Nisha Sharma; DDC, Ashu Sharma; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Rafiq Ahmad Jaral and other officers besides PRI members attended the programme.

Addressing the gathering, the Commissioner Secretary appreciated the revenue officers and officials for their tireless efforts in digitization of revenue records in a record time of two months, the fruit of which is available for public as online facility on Land Records Information System portal. He added that digitization is imperative for streamlining the revenue records and making revenue records easily accessible to the public through online based platforms.

Bidhuri added that educational institutions are the best platforms to generate awareness about the various Govt. schemes particularly online accessibility of land records.  He advised all the heads of educational institutions to  sensitize the students about the availability of land records at Land Records Information System portal- https://landrecords.jk.gov.in/, so that they can easily access the land records and disseminate awareness among the masses deep in the rural areas.

Later, the Commissioner Secretary distributed land passbooks among the land holders and informed them that the Land Passbooks have been generated in three language viz. Urdu, English and Hindi, so that every citizen of J&K can easily read and know his record, which filled the information vacuum and promoted people’s ease of access to the revenue records.

Bidhuri exhorted upon the officers of concerned departments for the implementation of the schemes in letter and spirit in the district. He called upon the people as well as PRIs to come forward to avail the benefits of various schemes and programmes launched by the Government.

Commissioner Secretary asked the officers of the concerned department to visit the Rural and far flung areas of the district to get firsthand information of the progress of various works and schemes. The online delivery of different revenue services and other public friendly initiatives launched by the Government have brought transparency and accountability in the department, Bidhuri added.

He appreciated the administration for effective implementation of IEC activities under various schemes in the district. DDC Chairperson also appreciated the Deputy Commissioner for her untiring efforts in digitization of land records, which will benefit the general public in future.
