Islamic Studies Faculty Member of BGSBU Wins Prestigious Award

Srinagar : An international competition was held by “Centre for Peace and Spirituality USA” under the title “Maulana Wahid-Ud-Din Khan Legacy Competition 2022” for the best research paper award on the life and thought of Maulana Wahid Ud Din Khan. CPS is a Delhi based International centre having its branches throughout the globe.

According to a statement issued by the BGSB University the USA branch has conducted this competition in which the papers were received from each and every corner of the world. Above 650 research papers were received by the centre. Among them the research paper of Dr. Mohd Younus Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Islamic Studies, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri is declared as the first and the best research paper. The research paper was reviewed by the expert panel of international repute. Furthermore, the faculty member wins the grant of 5000 US Dollars for this research paper.

Dr. Mohd Younus Kumar is presently teaching Islamic Studies in the Department of Islamic Studies, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri, (J&K) India. He holds Master’s in Islamic Studies from University of Kashmir, Srinagar (J&K) and pre-PhD (M.Phil.) and PhD degrees from Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) Awantipora (J&K). The author has qualified NET-JRF conducted by UGC (New Delhi) in June 2012. He has several national and international publications to his credit and has participated in many national and international conferences, seminars and workshops.

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of BGSBU formally congratulates the faculty member as well as the Department of Islamic Studies for winning this prestigious award. Dr.Naseem Gul Coordinator, Department of Islamic Studies; BGSBU also lauds the faculty member for this prestigious award. The faculty member also received best wishes and congratulation messages in and outside the University.
