Rajouri : Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, VikasKundalon Tuesday chaired a meeting of the concerned revenue officers to review the progress regarding generation and distribution of land passbooks in the district.
Officers present in the meeting were ADC Rajouri, SachinDev Singh; ACR, Imran Rashid Kataria; SDM Thanamandi, VikasDhar besides all ADCs, SDMs, Tehsildars attended the meeting through Google link.
It is pertinent to mention here that Land Pass Book entries carry the evidentiary value of the record-of-rights and other public record for all intents and purposes before the courts and the financial institutions including Banks.
During the meeting, the DC inquired from the tehsildars about the number of land pass books generated and distributed among the landowners. The concerned officers briefed the meeting about the present status.
The DC said that it is a landmark initiative taken by the J&K Govt to provide Land Passbooks to the lawful land owners to further improve the service delivery, enhance transparency and accountability in the Revenue System.
Describing the issuance of land pass books as a remarkable step towards ensuring transparency and Good Governance, the DC said that the initiative was a milestone to improve Public Services delivery and to make the system easily accessible and accountable.
The DC also asked officers to ensure accurate and up-to-date Revenue record entries in the Land Passbooks being issued to the land owners.
He also asked the tehsildars to ensure that maximum land passbooks are generated and distributed to the land owners in the district at the earliest.
The DC also directed the revenue officers to submit the progress in this regard on a daily basis and achieve the targets within the shortest possible time.
