Srinagar : Chairman Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Front (JKPDF) and former Minister Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen on Monday expressed his serious concern over the recent hike in power tariff in J&K.
In a statement issued here on Monday, Yaseen while expressing serious concern over the hike in power tarrif, has urged the J&K Administration to roll back the decision. He also said that unprecedented dearness in the market has broken the financial backbone of the people, who deserve power supply on subsidised rates, if not free. Yaseen added, “Moreover,the consumers continue to suffer due to long un scheduled power cuts ,”
Yaseen while adding that hike in power at this stage was extremely ridiculous and said that before deciding to increase power tarrif, government should have taken into consideration prevailing distressed economic situation due to slump in horticulture market and continuous lockdowns . Yaseen on this occasion also said that hike in power tariff crushes the poor domestic consumers and small industries.
