DC Ang conducts detailed review of KPDCL

Anantnag  : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Basharat Qayoom on Monday reviewed the status of works being executed by KPDCL Anantnag under different heads including Dist CAPEX, PRI grants and Back to Village etc at DC Complex, here.

Executive engineers of various divisions and A.E.Es of  KPDCLAnantnag informed the chair that under District Capex 517 works have been tendered out and works are under execution. They said that augmentation of the electric network will be completed within weeks time.

SE, KPDCL said that the works taken up will augment the transmission infrastructure in the district. He said that any faulty transformers are being replaced/ repaired within the stipulated time frame to reduce inconvenience to consumers.

Regarding pilferage and theft of electricity, he assured that regular checks are being conducted and strict vigilance is being maintained. He said that several violators have been fined to create deterrence.

The DC while reviewing the sector said that as the winter season is approaching, department has to make concerted efforts for uninterrupted supply of electricity to its consumers.

Taking strong note of slow pace of execution of works, DC directed the concerned officers to complete all the ongoing works within stipulated timeline. He said that works that have not already been tendered must be immediately tendered so that they can completed before end of fiscal.

The DC said that poor performance on account of delay in execution of works cannot be tolerated and directed the officers to expedite execution while ensuring strict monitoring to ensure quality.

Timelines for each division for completion of ongoing works were fixed and concerned Executive Engineers were directed to regularly review execution and ensure all works are completed till the end of this month .

The meeting was attended by CPO, Executive Engineers of KPDCL and other officials.
