Anantnag : World Sight day with the theme ‘Love Your Eyes’ was on Thursday celebrated across the district at various health institutions.
Nearly 500 health workers including Medical Officers, Specialists, Paramedical staff, technical staff, students and General Public participated in the event.
The event was aimed at spreading awareness regarding visual impairment, blindness, visual care and other occular issues. Participants were briefed about medical causes and symptoms of glaucoma, presbyopia, etc and advised to screen for disease at their nearest healthcare facility regularly.
The awareness drives were also held in various educational institutions and public places.
