Traders Association Kreeri B’la aghast over lack of basic amenities, Seeks LG’s Intervention for early redressal of long pending issues

Srinagar : Traders Association Kreeri Baramulla has sought the intervention of the LG Administration for immediate resolution of their long pending demands with an appealed to J&K Lt Governor for his personal intervention.

In his statement issued on Thursday the President Traders Association Kreeri on Wednesday strongly demanded redressal of their long-pending demands concerning development of the town. Listing the issues of priority pending resolution despite repeated reminders to the authorities of district administration Baramulla and Divisional Administration Kashmir the trade body president said that residents of the Kreeri town have been facing many issues and sought their redressal on numerous occasion by meeting among others, the then Advisor and Deputy Commissioner Baramulla two years back but the demands are still pending disposak.

The President while giving details said that people of Kreeri Baramulla have been facing many issues which includes among other things,lack of proper sanitation, non-availability of drainage system, poor waste management, insufficient staff at Govt. HSSS Kreeri besides a long pending demand for setting up the SBI Branch in the Kreeri town.

On this occasion, Traders Association President demanded construction of a play field in Main Town so that the talented youth of this area can also prove their mettle in sports as the present playing field has been left on the mercy of God without taking any notice of the prevailing conditions in the stadium.

He also said that Kreeri town does not have any sophisticated play-ground much to the disappointment of youth and players as the government is regularly stressing much upon developing infrastructure for sports so that the youth do not fall prey to drugs and other anti social activities, alleging therein that concerned authorities in the government are turning deaf years to their demands.

The Traders Association President on this occasion strongly emphasized the urgent need for Upgradation of staff in Govt HSS Kreeri as the students of the town are facing lots of difficulties in absence sufficient number of teaching staff in the school. Meanwhile the President has strongly demanded the construction of drainage system in the town which is being pending for years together now.  He said, “in absence of drainage system, roads in our locality get waterlogged making it difficult for people to move out”. The Traders Association in its statement appealed concerned department to look into the matter as the crucial season of winter is approaching.

Traders Association in its statement also pleaded for the institution of proper waste management policy in the district. The association said that Kreeri town is facing difficulty in garbage disposal as the local people said that garbage dumping was a big problem in town since decades and the concerned authorities have failed to find any solution of this never-ending problem. The Traders body in it’s statement alleged that they have brought this issue into the notice of concerned authorities on several occasions but nothing concrete has materialized on ground so far.
