ADDC inaugurates sale, distribution of Onion Seedlings at Green House Shopian

Shopian :  The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Shopian, ManzoorHussainon Wednesday inaugurated sale/ distribution of Onion seedlings organised by the Department of Agriculture at GreenHouse Mini Secretariat, Shopian.

On the occasion, ADDC interacted with the concerned technical staff about the hybrid Onion seedlings.

The concerned officers briefed the ADDC regarding various initiatives introduced by the department for the optimum utilization of the different resources.

The Chief Agriculture Officer Shopian, Farooq Ahmed informed that an estimated one lakh onion seedlings of hybrid quality would be made available to the farmers from Green House Shopian.

Speaking on the occasion, the ADDC assured the concerned officers of every possible support for the successful implementation of the Green House programme. He asked the concerned officers to ensure that the farming community gets the seedlings of different hybrid crops at the right time.

He directed the concerned officers to put in all efforts so that more and more educated young farmers could be attracted towards the onion hybrid cultivation to double their income to live a decent life.

The officers and officials besides beneficiaries from different areas were present.
