GDC Bhaderwah observes Swachhta Pakhwada- 2022

Udhampur : SwachhtaPakhwada launched by the Government of India, is a fortnight-long program observed to ensure mass participation of citizens in Swachhta activities and to truly transform Swachh Bharat into a citizen’s movement. This year SwchhtaPakhwada, 2022 is again being observed via conducting a plethora of activities by Govt. Degree College, Bhaderwah under the guidance of the College Principal, Dr. Kuldeep Kumar Sharma with great zeal and vigor.

At the outset, Swachhta Pledge was administered by Prof. Anuradha Sharma and Dr. JavidManzoor and a cleanliness drive cum rally was also conducted on the college campus. The students of Sem. I of Environmental Sciences and NSS volunteers actively participated in the drive.

Prof. Surinder Singh Parihar, Prof. Ashwini Kumar, Prof. Jaideep Kumar, Prof. Aijaz Ahmed and Prof. Parvaiz Ahmed Parrey played a pivotal role in the conduct of the whole program.

Prof. Surinder, while speaking on the occasion, lauded the students for their active participation and motivated them to keep their surroundings clean while throwing all garbage in the dustbins installed at various locations in the college.

A wall painting Competition was also organised in which students actively participated and drew beautiful paintings on the walls. A cleanliness drive was also conducted at Nalthi Park, Bhaderwah by students and NCC Cadets of the college in collaboration with 4 RR Army and other Educational Institutions of the Bhaderwahh.

Prof. Prithvi Raj also participated in the cleanliness drive.

A guest lecture was also organised on “Composting” with SumeerBharti, Agriculture Extension Officer as the resource person. He demonstrated the techniques to make compost and the benefits of using compost as soil amendment.
