DC Ramban chairs DLTF meeting, Panel approves BBBP DisttAction Plan – 2022-23

Ramban :  District Administration Ramban on Thursday approved the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ (BBBP) scheme District Action Plan for the fiscal 2022-23 here in a meeting of the District Level Task Force (DLTF)  chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam.

The DLTF held a detailed discussion on different components of the scheme like BetiBachao and BetiPadhao and approved a plan of Rs. 30 lakh for the year 2022-23.

The Action Plan proposals pertaining to different departments were discussed in detail, including  re-enrollment of school dropped out girls, equipping teachers to impart education in a gender-sensitive manner,   imparting self-defense training to girls,   sensitization of all the stakeholders about the PC&PNDT Act, MTP Act, and Convergence for nutrition and Health Education including menstruation hygiene behavior and conduct of Sports events for girls to make the ambassadors of BBBP scheme.

The DLTF allocated Rs. 8 lakh for capacity building and awareness programme, Rs. 8 lakh for providing incentives under PMMVY in convergence with ICDS department, Rs. 6 lakh for provision of sanitary pads in schools in convergence with Education department under BetiBachao component.

Similarly, under the BetiPadhao component, an amount of Rs. 5 lakh was allocated for Pre-Matric Scholarship, Rs. 0.50 lakh for the National Means cum Merit Scheme and Rs. 2.50 lakh for organizing Sports Events and Self Defence Training for girls by the concerned departments.

The DC asked the stakeholder departments to work in coordination for effective  implementation of the Action Plan under BBBP.

Among others, Programme Officer, ICDS, Jahangir Hashmi; Chief Planning Officer, Dr. KasturiLal;   Chief Education Officer, DevAnand; District Social Welfare Officer, Rahul Gupta; Dy. SP headquarter Pardeep Singh and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
