Distt Counselling cell Udhampur organises marathon on “Say no to drugs”

Udhampur: District Counselling Cell Udhampuron Fridayorganised a Marathon on the theme “Say no to Drugs” under the close supervision , guidance and support of Chief Education Officer Udhampur Arvin Koul.
The marathon was flagged off by Addl. Superintendent of police UdhampurMohd. Anwar –Ul-Haq in presence of Chief Education Officer Udhampur ArvinKoul.
As many as 500 students along with staff members of Udhampur City schools including SCTM, GHSS Girls, SIKS, GHSS, City High School Boys and Govt Girls High School participated in the Marathon.
The Marathon started from SIKS GHSS and covered M.H Chowk , Domail, Court road , Gol market and culminated back at SIKS HSS Udhampur. After the completion of the Marathon, the prize distribution ceremony was also held.
In the boys category, Anish Kumar, KarmanyaKhajuria and SahilJamwal stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively and in Girls category NaseemAkhter ,RajniKumari and Sunita Devi stood 1st , 2nd and 3rd respectively.
District counseling Co-ordinator RenuKotwal , District Counsellor Dr. Vinod Kumar Bhardwaj and ZCC Pancheri, Rakesh Singh played an important role in organizing this event successfully and in a disciplined manner.
At the end, Chief Education Officer, Arvin Koul thanked the staff of Medical Department, Police Department, Information Department, Youth and sports Department, Principal of SIKS HSS Udhampur and all the participants who made this event successful.
