MP Masoodi presides over interactive session convened by JKNC Social Media Cell

Srinagar: Senior National Conference leader and Member Parliament from Anantnag Justice (Retd.) Hasnain Masoodi on Thursday said the party will not allow a walk over on Article 370 , 35 -A, saying that it will continue with its fight against the attempts aimed at denuding J&K of its unique identity and culture legally and democratically.
According to a statement issued from the party headquarters Masoodi said this while speaking in an interactive session with legal experts, lawyers. Party’s YNC, Women’s Wing, Media Cell and Social Media functionaries were also present. The session was convened by party’s Social Media Cell head Sarah Hayat Shah. Among others Party’s Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq, Senior leader Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan, State women’s wing President Shameema Firdous, State Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar, Provincial Vice Presidents Syed Tauqeer Ahmed, Ahsan Pardesi, Provincial women’s wing President Er. Sabiya Qadri, YNC Provincial President Salman Ali Sagar, Spokesperson Ifra Jan, Deputy Political Secretary to VP Mudassar Shahmiri, Dr Sajad Shafi Uri.
The session was marked by threadbare discussions and question and answer sessions on the constitutional challenges faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Interacting with the functionaries and legal luminaries associated with the party, Masoodi said Article 370 is not only part of the Constitution of India but is part of the federalism that is the basic structure of the Constitution. “August 5 move of the Centre cannot stand the judicial scrutiny. It was also a massive assault on the Constitution. It undermined the asymmetric federalism and diversity of the country. Assault on Article 370,Art 35-A is certainly an out and out attack on a country’s diversity,” he said. Pointing out to the rulings made by SC and J&K high court from time to time, Masoodi said the provisions had acquired a state of permanence. “Our case in the Hon’ble SC is strong. We are hopeful the constitutional bench will start hearing our petition as soon as possible,” he added. The session continued for four hours and witnessed long discussions on varied issues concerning J&K and its people.
