Hindi Pakhvara concludes at CUK

G’bal: Hindi Pakhvara, organised by the Rajbhasha Cell of the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) concluded here on Thursday.
According to a statement issued from Public Relations Office of the University the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Farooq Ahmad Shah while speaking on the occasion said the administrative staff of the university have shown keen interest in learning Hindi and majority of them have passed the three programmes Prabodh, Praveen and Pragya with good percentage. He said the language does not belong to any particular religion, community or ethnicity. “People should learn other languages, particularly of the country, in addition to their mother tongue,” he said. CUK VC asked the employees to learn and use the Hindi language in official work as the Parliamentary Committee on implementation of Hindi, will conduct an inspection about usage of the same in the varsity, in near future.
Addressing the participants, Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar, asked all the staff members to use Hindi in their office work and communications. “The orders issued from administration and other offices have necessarily to be bilingual (English and Hindi) from now onwards,” he said. Prof. Zargar said that more than 30 percent of CUK employees have already completed the correspondence courses of Central Hindi Training Institute (CHTI).
Welcoming the guests, Hindi Adhikari, Dr. Sakina Akhter, said the Rajbhasha Cell is implementing most of the rules and regulations regarding implementation of Hindi in the university. She said the Cell is regularly conducting classes of the employees wherein they are taught Hindi.
Vice Chancellor, Prof. Farooq Ahmad Shah and Registrar, later felicitated the winners in dictation, essay and letter writing, translation and Hindi noting and also the participants in the Pakhvara. The first prize was bagged by Tabassum Imran, while the second and third prizes were bagged by Mr. Naveed and Mr. Irfan, respectively.
