Srinagar : Director Tourism, Kashmir Faz Lul Haseeb inaugurated a three days Basic Life Support (BLS) Training Workshop here at Tourist Reception Centre Srinagar. The event was held in collaboration with the Red Cross Society Of Kashmir.
According to an official statement issued on Thursday the main motive of this training was to train the Tourist Guides who are front runner and are directly in contact with the visiting tourists so in any case of eventuality they are supposed to be trained to tackle the situation professionally to save the life of a tourist or anyone around who faces the threat/injury. ”
More than 20 Tourist Guides were trained from different destinations of Kashmir viz. Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Yousmarg, Kokernag, Verinag and adjoining areas.
The training enabled the participants to recognize life-threatening emergencies like cardiac arrest, stroke, foreign body airway obstruction; and introduces concepts of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid in a variety of situations. Participants were trained in First Aid, CPR, Fire Fighting, Disaster Responsiveness and Life Saving Techniques. The participants were trained hands on practically and on third day of the training examination was conducted and all the participants qualified. Certificates were awarded in favour of the participants for successful completion of the Training Workshop by the Red Cross Society of Kashmir and instructors were facilitated the Department of Tourism. Deputy Director Tourism, Registration (Kashmir) was the Chief Guest for the concluding ceremony. The whole programme was co-ordinated by Assistant Director Tourism, Zeeshan Khan.
