Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has arrested seven persons on charges of involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals and also seized seven vehicles in Awantipora.
In a statement issued on Thursday police said that police parties of PS Pampore and PS Khrew seized seven vehicles involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in respective jurisdictions and also arrested drivers of these vehicles.
Stating that police registered cases under relevant sections of law in respective police stations and also initiated investigation, Police in the concluding para of the above referred statement said that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
