2 Day Annual Cultural Festival concludes at BGSBU

Rajouri: A two-day Annual Cultural Festival- 2022 organised by University Cultural and Literary Club, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University concluded Thursday.
According to a statement issued from the Public Relations Officer of the University the Vice Chancellor Prof. Akbar Masood was the chief guest on the occasion. More than 100 students from various departments participated in various events including singing, dance, poetry, standup comedy face painting competitions. Prof. Akbar complimented the participants for their mesmerising performances. Prof. Akbar congratulated the winners and assured all the participants that University will be providing them with many such opportunities to showcase their talent. Prof. Akbar applauded the efforts of the University Cultural and Literary Club for organising the event.
Kamaran, a Student of the Department of Biotechnology bagged the first prize in the singing (Solo) competition whereas a team of students of Environmental Studies clinched the first position in singing (Group). A team of students from the Centre for Hospitality and Tourism got first prize in the group dance category whereas Ishrat Wani student of B.VOC received first prize in the solo dance category. Mohd Umar Hayat of the Department of Urdu got first prize in poetry. Ajraz Khan of EVS received first prize in standup comedy and a team of students of EVS led by Khurshid got first prize in the skit. Certificates of appreciation were also awarded to the volunteer and anchors of the event. Dr. Manzar Alam and Dr. Asif adjudged the events. The award-giving ceremony was conducted by Dr. Farkhanda Ana. Those who were present on the occasion included Registrar Mohd Ishaq, Dean SoET Prof. Asif Hussain, Joint Registrar Suneet Gupta, Dr. Danish Iqbal Raina, Convener UC& LC, Dr. Liayaqat Nayyer member, Coordinator Dept of Urdu and member UC& LC, Students and research scholars of various departments, officers and officials of the University.
