Reasi : To sensitise the common masses about the importance of cleanliness, a community mobilization cum sanitation drive & distribution of dustbin was on Tuesday conducted by District Administration Reasi as part of the Swachh Bharat Mission, here from Moori Domail to Katra.
The PRIs, local people, shopkeepers, besides senior officers of Civil Administration enthusiastically participated in the shramdaan .
While highlighting the importance of cleanliness and personal hygiene, the ADDC, Jyoti Rani Slathia appealed to the participants to keep their surroundings clean and also motivate others in maintaining the cleanliness. She exhorted upon the public to discard the use of polythene, maintain hygiene and keep water resources clean to protect the ecology and its flora and fauna in the district.
The ADDC sought cooperation of all stakeholders in generating awareness among the masses regarding hygiene and the importance of cleanliness to keep themselves healthy and disease free. She elaborated the aims and objectives of the sanitation drive and appealed to the public to take pledge for keeping all institutions, offices & Roads of district clean and green through active participation of one and all.
She thanked all the participants and appealed to them to join hands with the District Administration in future endeavours of cleanliness and make optimum use of dustbins and proper disposal of collected litter keeping in view the religious sanctity of the area and Ecology in particular.
On this occasion, Vice Chairman DDC SajraQadir, ADDC JyotiSalathia, SDM KatraAngrez Singh, DPO Reasi Faisal Nazir, BDO PanthalRaiesAkhter and PRIS were present.
