VC KVIB visits Pulwama, inspects employment generation units

Pulwama :   Vice-Chairperson, J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB), Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat, on Saturday visited Pencil village Ukhoo Pulwama and interacted with the local employment generating unit holders.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Hina said that such units are playing a very crucial role in women empowerment especially providing employment to young local girls. She said that the units in the Ukhoo village supply pencils to the whole India.

Dr Hina said that determination of local youth towards their own business is highly appreciable.

During her visit, Dr Hina inspected various units including pencil slate firms, furniture units, dairy units, garment manufacturing units and other such ventures established by local youth.

On the occasion, she apprised the locals of various schemes which may be taken up by the unemployed youth and women folk to establish their self-employment generating units.

She directed the district functionaries of KVIB to remain available for people of the area and educate them about the schemes of the board like PMEGP, JKREGP, NSSH, SFURTI etc.

VC directed the implementing agencies to work in close coordination with the people and facilitate them by providing all the facilities under a single roof to empower local youth socially and economically.

District Officer KVIB, Programme Officer, PMEGP and JKREGP and other concerned accompanied the VC during her visit.
