Weekly Block Diwas: DDC Doda chairs grievances redressal camp at Bharath

  DM assures Timely, quality disposal of public issues by district admin, Seeks public support for NashaMukt Bharat, Swachhta Mission campaigns

Doda :  To reach out to the public living in the far off areas of the district and to redress their grievances at their doorsteps, District Development Commissioner Doda, Vishesh Paul Mahajan on Wednesday chaired the Block Diwas program here at Bharathpanchayat of block Dali Udhyanpur.

The program at Bharath was attended by BDC Chairperson Dali, UdhyanpurShabir Ahmed; SSP, Abdul Qayoom; SE Hydraulics, SE PWD, SE JPDCL, SP Operations Doda, CEO Doda, CMO Doda, ACD Doda, AC Panchayat, CAHO, CHO, District Sheep Husbandry Officer and other District and Sectoral heads of other departments. A large number of PRIs and general public of the area attended the Block Diwas program.

During the program, scores of issues of public importance were projected by the PRI members and prominent persons of the area, which includes road connectivity to the unconnected areas, RTC bus services for the area, rationalisation of schools and staff in education institutions, to tap the tourism potential of the area, augmentation of existing roads and power infrastructure, police post for the area, bank facility at Dali Udhyanpur, permanent posting of Tehsildar, speedy execution of JJM schemes in the area.

Responding to the public issues, the DDC said that timely and quality disposal of the issues of the general public is the top priority of the district administration. He assured that all their genuine issues will be resolved in a time bound manner. He also directed the officers of line departments to ensure speedy and time bound resolution of the issues raised in the program.

In response to the issue of rationalization of staff in educational institutions and other issues pertaining to the education department, the DDC said that the matter was already under consideration and the entire exercise of rationalization is being revisited. He assured that in next 20 days a holistic change will be seen in the department in terms of its functioning.

Regarding approval of MGNREGA plans, the DDC asked the general public to complete construction of soakage pits and assured that the MGNREGA plan will be implemented in the respective panchayat after the completion of soakage pits. Further, he urged the general public to actively participate in the Swachhta mission.

The DDC briefed the participants about NashaMukht Bharat Abhiyaan launched in the district and urged locals to inform the district and police administration about the persons involved in drug peddling. The DDC also urged the youth to keep themselves away from the Drug abuse.

Meanwhile, a pledge was also administered to the locals to support the NashaMukt Bharat campaign.

SSP Doda, while speaking during the Block Diwas, laid special emphasis on waging war against the drug menace. He urged the PRIs to play a proactive role in keeping the society away from the threat of drug disaster.   He emphasised on the role of mothers and sisters to ensure that youngsters don’t fall prey to the nefarious designs of the elements inimical to peace and tranquility.

Similar functions under the aegis of block Diwas were  held at PanchayatGurekhra, Sub Division Gandoh, Tehsil HQ SewaChiralla, Sub Division, Thathri. PanchayatGharkuthyara, Sub Division Assar and Shiv MandirKandosu, PanchayatChoundri, Block Bhalla. Sub District Bhaderwah, where senior officers of District administration listened to the issues of public and responded to the satisfaction of the applicants/ public.
