Police recovers abducted girl in B’la, accused arrested

Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has recovered an abducted girl within 6 hours by arresting an accused person involved in the commission of crime.

In a statement issued form Zonal Police Headquarters, Police said that police Post Palhallan received a written complaint from one person who alleged  therein that his daughter has been abducted by Mohammad Afzal Chopan (Bilal) S/O Gh Hassan Chopan R/O Palhallan Pattan. Police in it’s statement also said that a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Pattan and investigation was initiated. Stating that on receiving inputs SDPO Pattan Mohammad Nawaz Khanday constituted a team headed by In-charge Police Post Palhallan, Police in it’s statement further said that during the course of investigation, after strenuous efforts Police recovered the abducted girl and arrested the accused person involved in the commission of crime from Hajin area of District Bandipora.

“After completing all the medico legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs”, reads the above quoted police statement, adding that  “Further investigation of the case is going on”. In the concluding para of the above referred statement, police assured the people about its consistent action against the anti-social elements.
