Srinagar : Police in Bandipora on Wednesday organised Anti-drug and Cybercrime awareness programmes under the banner of Nasha Mukht Abhiyan and Cyber Jagrukta Diwas at Police Station Pethkote and Police Station Aragam.
According to a statement issued form Zonal Police Headquarters police said, the event at Police Station Aragam was chaired by DySP PC Bandipora Zafar Mehadi and SHO PS Aragam while as, the event at PS Pethkote was chaired by SHO Police Station Pethkote.
These programmes were organised by Police with the motive of generating awareness among vulnerable age group about ill effects of drug addiction and Cybercrime and to seek cooperation of the society in eradicating the social evils prevailing in the society particularly menace of drugs.
On the occasion, the chairing officers highlighted the role of school and college management in identification of substance abusers and their role in remedial measures thereof. Emphasis was also given to the psychological and social aspects of Cybercrime. Detailed deliberations on various aspects of drug addiction and preventive measures especially in youth were also made. All participants pledged to never indulge in any kind of substance abuse.
In a concluding para of the above referred statement, the participants appreciated the Police for conducting such awareness programmes and building a bridge of trust between police and the public.
