DC Ramban finalizes BBBP action plan for 2022-23 at DLTF meeting

Ramban :  Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat , on Wednesday finalized the Beti Bachao BetiPadhao (BBBP) scheme action plan for the year 2022-23 here at the District Level Task Force Committee meeting.

Chief Planning Officer, Dr. KasturiLal; Assistant Commissioner Development, Ashok Katoch;   Chief Education Officer, DevAnand; District Social Welfare Officer, Rahul Gupta   and other concerned officers attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the activity proposals of the Action Plan pertaining to different departments. The Education department proposed to launch a campaign to re-enroll secondary level dropout girls, equipping the teachers to impart education in a gender-sensitive manner, training young and adolescent boys about gender equality, imparting self-defense training to girls etc.

Similarly, the Health Department proposed to  conduct awareness campaigns and sensitization of the stakeholders, including the public, about the PC&PNDT Act, MTP Act, and Convergence for nutrition and Health Education including menstruation hygiene behavior.

The Youth Service and Sports Sector proposed activities like awareness and community mobilization through NSS and NYKS volunteers for the awareness regarding BBBP, besides using the BBBP logo for the schemes run by the department of youth Affairs, etc. It was decided in the meeting that  special focus shall be laid on 100% birth registration of each newly born child.

The DSWO also briefed the meeting about the activities proposed under other sectors including the Department of Rural Development and Panchyati Raj, Skill Development, Home, Labour and Employment etc.

The DC asked all the stakeholder departments to work in coordination for effective implementation of the Action Plan in the district.
