Srinagar : Police under the aegis of Civic Action Programme (CAP) on Tuesday distributed wheelchairs and other hearing machines among specially-abled persons at District Police Lines Ganderbal. Besides, distributes school bags and stationery items among needy children.
According to a statement issued from J&K Zonal Police Headquarters, police said that the SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar distributed wheelchairs and hearing aids among more than 60 specially-abled persons. School bags and stationery items were also distributed among as many students of the district.
On this occasion, the SSP Ganderbal while interacting with the beneficiaries assured them all possible support from Police department in order to make their lives easy and comfortable. He said that the persons with physical challenges need to be taken care-off by society. He further said that Police department will always play its eminent role in this regard. He advised the Police officers and jawans to show empathy and kindness towards such segments of the society and come forward with helping hands to make them feel part and parcel of the society. He also asked the beneficiaries not to allow their physical hindrances and infirmities to come in their ways and to stay active in their lives in pursuit of their goals. Police said that the DySP DAR DPL Ganderbal Muzaffar Jan, RI DPL Ganderbal and other senior Police officers were also present on the occasion.
