SWD hosts 3-Day workshop for Master trainers on eradication of Drug abuse in Jammu

Jammu :  On the direction of  Lieutenant Governor, Department of Social Welfare, under the supervision of Commissioner Secretary to the Government, Social Welfare Department, J&K and Director General, Department of Social Welfare organised three day training Programme for master trainers under Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan, here on Saturday at Panchayat Bhawan, Rail Road Complex, Jammu.

The training programme was conducted  from September 15, 2022 to September 17, 2022 in which  training was imparted to the field level functionaries of the department including Conductress/Craft Teachers and Social Workers from Social Welfare Department, Supervisors and AWWs from Mission Poshan, Staff of Mission Shakti and Mission Vatsalya, Teachers /Counsellors from School Education Department, Trainers and officials from Mission Himayat and officials and SHGs from Rural Livelihood Mission from all the 10 districts of Jammu Province by the experts from the Department of Health and Medical Education, Drug and Food Control Organisation and State level Coordinating Agency.

The experts including Dr. Manu Arora (HOD, Psychiatrist hospital), DrAbhishekChouhan and Dr. GurmeetKour (Health Department),  MohammadIqbal (DDC, Drug and Food Control Organisation), Sanjay Bhat (Drug Control Officer) and Pallavi Singh (team of State Level Coordination Agency) emphasized on taking concrete measures to eradicate the menace of drug abuse which has assumed alarming situation in almost all the Districts of Jammu Province.

The participants were trained in the dissemination of the message to curb the problem of drug abuse in far off areas of the Jammu province.

The programme was coordinated by Kailash Devi (Assistant Director Schemes) and Ranbireshwar Singh Jamwal (Assistant Director Adm) among other officials of Directorate of Social Welfare Jammu.
