More-than 400 Trainees receive Certificates at annual Convocation of ITI B’pora

Talented, skilled youth are going to make the future: DM Owais

Bandipora  :  The annual convocation of Industrial Training Institute Bandipora was held on Saturday within ITI campus, here.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed who is also chairman Skill Committee District Bandipora was the chief guest on the occasion.

Superintendent ITI BandiporaAb Rashid Bajad, Staff members and a large gathering of trainees were present on the occasion.

More than 400 pass-out trainees received certificates during the event besides toppers were felicitated with mementos.

Variety of programmes including skits regarding judicious use of electricity and ill effects of drugs were organised during the convocation ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC congratulated the pass-out trainees for achieving success in different trades. He said the skill department has introduced new trades in ITI Bandipora and urged youth to come forward and choose the trade of their choice for becoming an employer rather than an employee.

Dr. Owais said ITIs and other skill institutes are working efficiently to make youth skillful in different trades. He urged youth to upgrade skills to meet the demand of the market.

The DC said that in the present world of competition, the talented and skilled youth are going to make the future.

An awareness programme regarding drug abuse and harmful effects of drugs was also held on the occasion.

The DC advised youth to avail career opportunities and stay away from drugs. He said district administration has taken various steps regarding counseling, rehabilitation and treatment for drug addicts.

He said drugs start as amusement and end up with disaster.

The programme also witnessed awareness regarding Special Summary Revision under SVEEP.

DrOwais said that special summary revision for addition, deletion or any other kind of modification is going on and urged all the eligible citizens to register themselves on electoral roll.

Superintendent ITI Bandipora in his address apprised the chair about various new works taken up and newly introduced trades.
