He also interacted with commercial farmers and agri-enterpreneur of the area.

Speaking on the occasion, the Director said that amid our unique agro-climatic conditions we are able to produce a wide range of agricultural crop including vegetables and this gives farmers an edge over the farmers of rest of the country.

He impressed upon the farmers to take full advantage of prevailing agro-climatic conditions and diversify their crop cultivation operations to get maximum out of it. He said our season for vegetable production is on when it is off-season for rest of the country and this gived us the opportunity, to export our fresh vegetable to other states of that country and earn more returns for our produce.

Director Agriculture instructed CAO Budgam and SDAO Chadoora to chalk out a modus operandi for operation of installed community based bore wells for irrigated farmer’s fields in phased manner. He asked the concerned officers to work in close co-ordination with the farmers and agri-enterpreneur’s of the concerned area and make sure that every latest intervention reaches the farmer, it is adopted and implemented by the farmers successfully.

Later, the Director visited different villages including wathoora, Bugam, etc and interacted with the farming community of the area. He assured farmers of every possible technical support from the department for their successful agriculture operations.
