Rajouri : To promote NashaMukt Bharat Abhiyan, District Development Commissioner Rajouri, VikasKundal, on Friday flagged off a SwasthRath here from the DC office.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that District Administration is working on a multi-pronged strategy for the welfare of the youth and to enable them to achieve the best and live a respectful life in the society.
He also said that Drug addiction is the cause of many social and psychological problems and there is an impending need to contain substance abuse.
“To provide necessary treatment to the drug addicts, a drug de-addiction and rehabilitation center has been made functional in the district” he informed.
Saying that the Stakeholder Departments are organizing multifarious activities to curb the menace, he said that the main focus is to channelize the potential of the youth towards productive activities and keep them away from drug addiction.
“Besides de-addicting the drug users, there is a dire need to address the major reasons which provoke the youth to take drugs,” said the District Development Commissioner Rajouri, VikasKundal.
He advised the youth to take part in constructive activities like sports and choose life, not drugs.
The DDC also urged the public to work hand in hand with the District Administration to eliminate drug abuse from the district and make Rajouri a NashaMukt district.
