Cattle burglary case solved within 24 hours in B’pora, accused arrested: Police

Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it hjas solved a cattle theft case by arresting an accused person involved in the commission of crime in Bandipora district and  also recovered stolen cattle from his possession.

In a statement issued from J&K Zonal Police Headquarters, police said “PS Bandipora received a complaint from a shepherd namely Abdul Khaliq S/O Mohmmad Abdullah R/O Rajouri Kalakote wherein it was alleged that during the intervening night of 14th and 15th  September, some unknown thieves took away his 7 Sheep near Rangerkhan (Ajar Chowk) Bandipora.

Stating that police accordingly registered a case vide FIR No. 159/2022 under relevant sections of law in PS Bandipora after which investigation was taken up immediately , Police in it’s above referred statement further said that after receiving relevant information, the police party headed by SHO PS Bandipora under the supervision of Dy SP Hqrs Bandipora Shafat Mohmad after strenuous efforts and human/technical inputs arrested one person within 24 hours.

Police in it’s statement also said that the above named suspect has been identified as Zubair Ahmad Ganie S/o Gh Mohmad GanieR/o Nowpora Bandipora who during questioning has confessed his involvement in the commission of crime and on his disclosure, 7 sheeps were also recovered from his possession.

“During further course of investigation, the detained also confessed the involvement of his father Gh Ahmad Ganie S/o Ab Ahad Ganie R/o Nowpora and efforts are on to arrest him also”, the above referred statement reads further, adding that “Further investigation of the case is going on”. In the concluding para of the above referred statement, Police assured the people that it would take strict actions against individuals involved in any kind of criminal activities.
