Ganderbal : Special Summary Revision (SSR) 2022 of Photo Electoral Rolls under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) was on Thursday kick-started in Ganderbal during which awareness programmes were held in Govt. Degree Colleges Kanganand Ganderbal which were presided over by the District Election Officer (DEO) Ganderbal, Shyambir.
The programme at Govt. Degree College Kangan was attended by Principal Degree College Kangan, Dy DEO, TehsildarKangan, BDO Kangan and CDPO, besides teachers and students of the college were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the DEO appealed to the students to register themselves during the SSR process which has been started from Thursday. He further added that any person attaining the age of 18 years on or before October 1, 2022 is qualified to be enrolled as an elector in the Electoral Roll and can apply for his registration during the special summary revision. He urged the participants to disseminate the information to the general population.
Dy. DEO also briefed about the importance of elections in a democratic set up. He gave detailed information about registration during SSR and other important information regarding the same.
Nodal Officer SVEEP briefed the students about activities for Special Summary Revision (SSR) 2022 and said that the period between September 15 and October 25 has been earmarked for filing claims and objections.
On the occasion Form-6A was also distributed among the eligible students by the District Election Officer.
