Srinagar : Police in Budgam on Thursday organized ‘Thana Diwas’ at Police Station Budgam.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters, police said the event was chaired by Dy SP Hqrs Budgam Naeem Wani accompanied by SHO PS Budgam Insp. Aftab Ahmad, I/C Women’s Cell Budgam, I/C PP Humhama, I/C PP Soibugh, besides other police officers/officials of Police Station Budgam were also present. The meeting was attended by respectable of Budgam town and adjacent villages, Transport union members, members of Trade union, Numberdars, Imams and other respectable of the area.
During these meeting, participants highlighted various grievances/issues of public importance. They were assured that their genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority and grievances pertaining to civil administration will be taken up with the concerned Departments for their early redressal. Besides, the grievances were heard patiently and were segregated on the basis of area of action and jurisdiction. The participants were also made aware about the job scams and were requested not to fall prey to fraudsters promising jobs in lieu of money and other favours and remain cautious from such disguised fraudsters. While speaking on these occasion, the chairing officers reiterated that the main aim of organising ‘Thana Divas, is to improve efficiency, transparency and accountability in policing at grass-root level and to develop confidence among the people.
In a concluding para of the above referred statement, the participants appreciated the role of police for conducting such interaction meetings and assured their full support & cooperation in curbing the menace of social evils of the society.
