Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has solved a burglary case by arresting one accused person involved in the commission of crime and also recovered stolen property from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters, police said “Police Station Awantipora received a complaint from a shopkeeper Mohammad Imran Wani resident of DonigundNoorpora stated wherein it was alleged that during intervening night of 5th and 6th August this year some unknown burglars took away cell phones from his shop located at KharmoodAwantipora”.
Stating that police registered a case vide FIR No.185/2022 under relevant sections of law at Police Station Awantipora and also set investigation into motion to ascertain the facts on ground, Police in it’s above referred statement further said that during the course of investigation, a police team led by SHO PS Awantipora raided multiple places and based on certain tangible clues, zeroed in on a suspect identified as Shabir Ahmad Shah S/O Ghulam Mohammad Shah R/O Gulshanpora Tral and when officers spoke to him they learnt about his involvement in the commission of crime. “On the disclosure of the said accused, 49 stolen cell phones were recovered from his possession after which he was arrested and shifted to police station where remain in custody”, reads the above referred police statement, adding that “ the investigation into the case is going on, more arrests are expected in the days to come”.
In the concluding para of the above referred statement police resolved to act tough against individuals involved in any kind of criminal activity and said that actions against such will continue in future also.
