Rajouri: Hindi Diwas was on Thursday celebrated with grandeur at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri to highlight the importance of the Hindi language.
According to a statement issued from the Public Relation Office of the University the Vice Chancellor Prof. Akbar Masood while speaking on the occassion highlighted the importance of Hindi Diwas. Prof. Akbar said that Hindi Diwas is celebrated on September 14 every year to raise awareness about the language and also commemorate the event when it was adopted as the official language of India.
Prof. Akbar said that for the promotion of Hindi language and Literature, the BGSB University has started a PG programme in Hindi language which will go in a long way in promoting language, literature and research in the Hindi language.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri. Mohd Ishaq, Registrar of BGSBU who is also the Hindi Officer of the Uni said that
this day is celebrated to mark the importance of the Hindi language in our lives, its development over time and its relevance in the present context of globalisation. He said that various initiatives are being taken by the University for the promotion of the Hindi language and literature.
