Udhampur : Following the Common Minimum Programme provided by J&K Legal Services Authority, and under the Chairmanship of Chairman District Legal Services Authority Udhampur Sh. Y.P. Bourney and overall Supervision of Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Udhampur Ms. Rajni Sharma, a Legal Awareness Programme on POCSO Act was organized by District Legal Services Authority, Udhampur at Indra Memorial Higher Secondary School BattalBallian here on Wednesday.
The Resource person of the Programme were Panel Lawyer Adv. Mallikarjun Singh Slathia and Adv. Nikhileshwar Singh and the programme was assisted by PLV Sham Lal. The programme was attended by the Principal, teachers and Students of the School. The resource person threw light on the subject and enlightened the gathering about the various provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act , 2012. The resource persons also asked the victims of sexual offences especially children to come forward and always report any sort of sexual offences before the proper forum.
Later Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Udhampur Ms. Rajni Sharma thanked all the participants and reiterated the mission of Legal Services institutions to provide all possible help the downtrodden sections of the society especially children.
