DEO Ang chairs meeting with representatives of Pol Parties on SSRERs

Anantnag :  In view of the ongoing special summary revision of electoral rolls (SSRERs), the District Election Officer (DEO), Anantnag (Deputy Commissioner), Dr BasharatQayoom who is also the on Wednesday  chaired a meeting with representatives from various political parties as well as EROs and AEROs.

During the meeting, the Deputy District Election Officer informed the chair that two new polling booths have been added with a total of 801 polling booths in the district.

She said that the calendar for special summary revisions has been widely publicized and the publication of draft electoral rolls will be taken up on the 15th of September. She said the process of inviting claims and objections will start thereafter.

The DEO asked the political parties to nominate a single representative from each party for coordination with the administration. He said that the parties will have to submit the list of Booth Level Agents.

He said that special campaigns and door to door visits by BLOs will be held on 24, 25 September and 1,2,15 and 16 October. He said that in order to reach out to specially abled persons, special directions have been issued to conduct house to house surveys on Saturdays.

The meeting was attended by Dy. DEO, EROs, AEROs, and representatives from various political parties among others. Later a meeting to discuss various issues was held with the EROs and AEROs.
