Srinagar: Two militants of Ansar-ul-Gazwatul Hind (AGuH) were killed in an encounter at Nowgam area of Srinagar district on Wednesday evening, police said.
Kashmir Zone Police on it’s twitter handle said that an encounter broke out in Nowgam area on a specific information generated by police. Police said that in the ensuing encounter, two militants belonging to AGuH militant outfit were killed.
Meanwhile, quoting Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar, police said that the duo was involved in an attack on a non-local labourer in Pulwama on September 02. The slain militants have been identified as Aijaz Rasool Nazar of Pulwama and Shahis Ahmad alias Abu Hamza.
Police in a tweet said that slain militants were affiliated with AGuH militant outfit and identified them as Aijaz Rasool Nazar of Pulwama & Shahid Ahmad @ Abu Hamza, Stating therein further that the slain militants were involved in recent militant attack on an outside labourer namely Muneer ul Islam from West Bengal on 2nd September this year in Pulwama.
