Kathua : Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rahul Pandey, who is also the District Election Officer, on Tuesday convened a meeting with representatives of political parties at the Conference Hall of DC Office complex.
During the meeting, discussions were held on the procedure for upcoming Special Summary Revision and issues concerning updation of electoral rolls.
The DEO informed that with the addition of 66-Jasrota as a new constituency, Kathua district now has a total of 6 Assembly constituencies for which 699 Polling Stations have been provisioned.
The DEO informed the representatives that six special camps shall be organized on 24-25th September 2022, 01-02 Oct-2022 & 15-16th Oct 2022 to facilitate the general public for updation of electoral rolls. “Besides, special door-to-door campaigns will also be organized through respective BLOs” he added.
The DEO called upon political parties to appoint the Booth Level Agents (BLA) and furnish the list with the District Election Cell, besides ensuring their presence at their respective polling stations on the day of special camp to assist the BLOs.
The meeting also discussed prescribed forms for the purpose of Special Summary Revision.
The DEO further apprised the meeting that the District Election Cell will keep them informed about the updates received from ECI and any queries whatsoever shall be redressed accordingly.
Among others, Dy. DEO KathuaAbhay Gupta and other officials were also present in the meeting.
